Ema Prosová
The AVU Pop Up project offers an informed insight into the latest conceptual and formal trends among the emerging generation of artists. The curatorial selection by Alice Hromádko and Markéta Jiroušková deliberately responds to the recent final-year and graduation projects from the academic year, drawing out the most distinctive approaches. Three of the featured artists are this year’s graduates; the remaining six are currently continuing their studies at the Academy of Fine Arts. Both the curators and the gallery view their work as a cohesive and highly promising body of work, the development of which is well worth following over the long term.
The showroom features works by the following artists: Matylda Habartová, Klára Hartlová, Gréta Fedora Homzová, Renata Jelínková, Jiří Klimenta, Roman Košťál, Martin Mlateček, Ema Prosová and Jáchym Šimek.
The exhibition presents an exceptionally diverse range of media and artistic approaches – from Matylda Habartová’s intimate ceramic reliefs, through Jáchym Šimek’s large-scale reliefs and sculptures created using 3D modelling, Martin Mlateček’s night-time plein air paintings created directly on the streets of Prague, right through to traditional Vietnamese lacquer painting and silk painting by Ema Prosová. The exhibition also explores psychoanalytic motifs in Klára Hartlová’s paintings, Renata Jelínková’s intimate exploration of the architecture of memory, and Jiří Klimenta’s light-hearted, illustrative style.
THE EXHIBITION IS HELD AT THE TRAFO SHOWROOM, WHICH IS OPEN ONLY ON WEEKDAYS BETWEEN 9.00–17.00.
