Bio

Ema Prosová is a Czech visual artist and a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (Studio of Painting 4). Long-term study and creative stays in Asia—particularly in Japan, Vietnam, and Indonesia—became a major catalyst for her artistic development. There, she gained deeper insight into traditional Eastern techniques, especially demanding lacquer painting and delicate silk painting, transferring their principles and distinct sensitivity into her own visual language.

In her work, Ema Prosová organically combines drawing, painting, and illustration to construct captivating, dreamlike worlds. Her art lies at the intersection of East Asian aesthetics, spiritual traditions, pop-culture references, and personally experienced memory. This results in ambiguous visual narratives that resonate through their delicacy, symbolic depth, and unique atmosphere.
