Bio

Klára Hartlová (1991) is a Czech painter currently studying in the Drawing Studio led by Alice Nikitinová and Matěj Smetana at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Until 2023, she studied under Jiří Petrbok and Martin Gerboc. Her artistic practice explores themes of dreams and the unconscious, memory and its disintegration. Her paintings are often inspired by literature as well as psychoanalytic thought. She primarily works with oil painting, which she expands through immersive installations. Alongside her artistic practice, she has long been engaged with the field of mental health. In 2017, she completed a Master's degree in Psychology at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, and now also works as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist.
