Bio
Markéta joined our gallery in March 2025 as an Art Sales representative. She studied cultural history at Charles University, where she specialized in art history. In her thesis, she dealt with the life and work of the artist Jan Steklík, especially in the era of normalization.
She began her professional career while studying by taking care of the historical collection of the Lobkowicz family. Later, she focused on contemporary art and architecture - for example, she curated the exhibition Czech Modern Architecture from Art Nouveau to Today at the Prague Castle Riding Hall, where she was in charge of selecting exhibits and conceptualizing individual units. She also collaborated on several other projects dedicated to modern architecture and fine arts. She also volunteered in Vietnam for four months, where she taught English and learned about the local culture.
Markéta is also involved in other artistic fields. For four years she led the Malá inventura New Theatre Festival, where she was responsible for preparing the program and organizing the festival. She also worked in music production and dramaturgy, which enriched her with new perspectives in the field of artistic creation.
In addition to visual arts, her lifelong love is music – she plays the piano and is currently learning to play the bass guitar. She also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, watching good films, and reading books.
