Vladimír Véla
Bio
Vladimír Véla (1980) studied at SUPŠ in Turnov (1994-1998), then PF of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (1998-1999) and VOŠ at SUPŠ in Jablonec nad Nisou (1999-2000). Subsequently, he went through the Classical Painting Studio of Prof. AVU in Prague. Zdenek Berana (2000-2003) and the Intermedia Creation Studio of prof. Milan Knížák (2003-2006). In 2008 and 2009, he became a finalist for the Prize for Young Art under the age of 33 of the NG 333 Prize and the ČEZ Group. He worked as an assistant professor at the University of Hradec Králové and is now the head of the FDU Painting Studio at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. The work is represented in the collections of the National Gallery in Prague, the Regional Gallery in Liberec and in private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad.
