Ira Svobodová: Paravan
3. 12. 2019 - 10. 1. 2020
Vystavující: Ira Svobodová
Kurátor: Jan Kudrna
The Paravan exhibition presents a series of paintings of the same name by Ira Svobodová, who was able to connect part of her paintings directly with the gallery space. She created several large-format paintings that depicted the installation of the exhibition exactly as the viewer finds it during her visit. This conceptual approach has shifted otherwise strictly organized compositions into other contexts.
This created another “new wave”, which we can call with a bit of exaggeration in the spirit of the time “Paravan 2.0”. In this case, the exhibition is not a natural end to a certain time-limited endeavor, but becomes a clear factor that indirectly co-creates the final form of the works of art themselves. It is part of the whole and will persist into the future in the form of paintings.
At the opening, Eva Bisler will baptize a bilingual publication with the laconic title Ira Svobodová, summarizing the author’s selection of the work, accompanied by texts by Tereza Bruthansová, Meghan Gordon, Jan Kudrna, Jiří Machalický, Thomas Miessgang and Carl E. Smith.
