Zeb One (1982) has joined the burgeoning trend characterised by graffiti’s progressive incursion into fine art spaces. From the outset, his paintings – for the most part consistently format-based – have been typified by a planar, purist, “rectilinear” geometrical style. The currents exhibition has been laconically titled Geometric, a direct reference to the artist’s predominant creative language.
The exhibition is accompanied by an bilingual publication with an introductory text by the curator Radek Wohlmuth and an interview conducted by the Swedish art theorist and journalist Tobias Barenthin Lindblad. The book’s graphics and the exhibition layout were designed by Jan Matoušek.
