Description
Album Zeichnungen / Drawings. 1928 – which is on the occasion of an exhibition of the same name in Prague’s Trafo Gallery, completes Mark Ther’s several-year interest in drawing. Although this work has been exhibited several times, it is still a relatively small part of the author’s work. Mark Ther has been profiling as the key figure of an emerging generation of artists in the middle of the last decade. His work at that time was almost exclusively associated with video and film. Ther has always linked a sophisticated, strong-storied portrayal of his videos to a specific subject, giving him both emotionally and intellectually strong backgrounds. Though Ther did not care about “videoart effects”, his films were sophisticated. Gradually, he created a specific image world that, through long cuts, intriguingly gets into the audience’s subconscious. The endless scenes, however, have a strong picture dynamics, which is gradually stronger and the viewer begins to attack with inertia.
