Duo Neone: Michal Cimala and Michal Škapa

Description

A permanent pair of post street-art authors presented a series of works based on the neon principle. Although neon as a medium is nothing new for both authors, both will premiere comprehensive series of works based on the specific properties of this rare gas. The medium of neon and especially its properties contrasts with both authors. It is necessary to isolate it for the intense glow of neon. In the case of the work of Michal Škapa and Michal Cimala, it is the exact opposite. The nature and energy of both authors is invasive and contagious to many. The inert, inconspicuous, precise and clearly defined element of neons in the work and hands of this pair turns into an expressive tool intended for the audience, life and everyone who will care. A kind of oxymoron is formed. We could almost say that the sun will be “rising in the west” and “setting in the east” in the Trafo Gallery.
